The Euro Boys are from Norway (natch). They make spy-movie surf lounge music. But this is a far cry from the same old stuff, for the essential reason that these kids can actually write, arrange and play as well as any of the originals, from Dick Dale to Burt Bacharach, from Neil Hefti to Isaac Hayes. The remarkably diverse instrumentation and impeccable taste of songs like "Girlfriend in Tacoma" (tee-hee) and "Mr. Wild Guitar" ought to send the Man or Astro-Men of the world back to the old drawing board. Their album is called Jet Age and it's also on Sympathy. And they're how old? Twenty friggin' two. When I was that age all I ever did was eat Funyuns and watch Growing Pains. Man, that Tracey Gold was the bomb....
